Be Prepared
Site Preparation is Important!
Preparing the land for your building project is crucial to its success. It involves tasks such as clearing brush, cutting trees, and removing stumps. Although it may cost a bit more upfront, proper site preparation will save you money and potential issues in the long run.
As a customer, you are responsible for:
• Tree removal
• Demolition and/or hauling away debris
• Land Clearing
It is important to clear access around the perimeter of the building pad and provide a proper drive to the site for heavy equipment during construction.
• Mark Building Corners
Mallett Buildings can assist you with this, but ultimately it is up to you to know where the building is to be located on your property.
• Landscaping & Drainage
Landscaping and drainage are also the customer’s responsibility, and we will not install a swale around the building.
Concrete Preparation Services
At Mallett Buildings, we offer concrete preparation services to ensure your building is ready for concrete. This process is done after the construction of the pole building is finished.
We will remove any vegetation in the top 4-6 inches of the building site, bringing in select fill to bring the site up to the proper elevation and level to within 1 inch of grade (interior of the building).
Any excess fill dirt will be left on the job site in neat piles. If the job site is too wet to be excavated or to have concrete poured, we at our discretion will need to wait until the site is dry enough to proceed and the crew can be rescheduled.
It’s important to note that the cost of the fill dirt is not included in the Concrete Prep price and will be invoiced separately as it’s charged per load and the amount of loads needed is not known definitively until Concrete Prep has begun.
